I used my vocal overtones and other vocal sounds digitally processed by reverbs and filters, togheter with synth sounds by the wonderful software ZynAddSubFX

Composed in 1998 ~ For cello, overtone singing, shakuhachi,harmonic whirlies & tuned windchimes Performed by Sarah Hopkins (cello, overtone singing & windchimes), Anne Norman (shakuhachi) & Chris Neville (Harmonic Whirlies). As the title suggests "Remember the Joy, Life is Sacred" is a 'call to consciousness' , a 'wake-up call' to live more joyously. As I sat playing a large pentatonic windchime it inspired a song : "I remember the things that give me joy.... " The melody of this song became the main cello theme in this piece. Sections of overtone singing & Harmonic Whirlies create beautiful cosmic tapestries which further uplift the spirit. The song „Live in church“ is LIVE recording from 2006. I sing in the project called Le´HarMonja (means Monika and my sister Lenka in Harmony). These concerts are taking place in beautiful church in Prague. It is already tradition every Christmas and every Easter. We like to sing overtones with shruti box and just improvise. We both are very well tuned together, that we perfectly know what to expect from each other. I like to sing for people to make them feel relaxed and open, in their hearts and minds....just make them listen the Quite behind the Music...

I like the sound of the pure voice.....no other instruments... It seems to truly enhance the wonder of the overtones........overtoning... With this piece..I have enjoyed using the voice with various tones, volume levels and techniques of overtoning.... it encourages the listener to listen quite deeply and experience the sound of the voice totally...to me that is one of the wonders of harmonic/overtone singing.......

Für mich ist Musik wie ein heiliges Ritual, eine endlose Reise, ich schließe einfach nur meine Augen und gehe tief nach Innen an einem Ort ganz nah dort, wo sich Himmel und Erde verschmelzen und der Wind der Ewigkeit berührt mich und alles fällt von mir ab, ich warte vollkommen leer und dann fährt dieser Wind tief in mich hinein, öffnet in mir einen unendlichen Raum und Töne, Klänge, Zauberworte beginnen in mir aufzusteigen und ich ströme mit ihnen durch sie die hindurch in den uralten pulsierenden Fluss des Lebens, so tief und nackt und und pur und ich kann alles hören und fühlen, den Atem des Himmels, den Herzschlag der Erde, mein Sein, alles Sein, ich schmelze in den Klang, der alles Leben in sich trägt. *Sternenhaftes Blau* ist eine Reise mit Basstrommel, Gesang und Wortzauber. Der Klang der Basstrommel führt den schwingenden Tanz der Stimmen. Die Stimmen singen und tönen in unkennbaren Sprachen, die alle Energien und Wesen einladen und uns aufnehmen, auflösen und tragen in den unbekannten unendlichen Raum der Reise. Die Traumworte sind wie Samen, die in uns aufgehen und einen Fluss von Bildern entstehen lassen, vergessene Erinnerungen und Gefühle in uns erwecken, die uns selbst übersteigen, das uralte Wesen in uns wird durch sie berührt und erinnert sich. My dream was to collect different female points of view about the utilisation of vocal overtones. On this compilation you can hear only female voices, or voices and real or synth instruments.
All female composers are members of overtone.cc - a network on overtone music, so all of them are lovers of the harmonic world in different ways, and, as artistic director of the project, I tried to create a sound rainbow as wide as possible, assembling different styles. Personally I don't like commercial new age music, so I think we are successful to produce a deeper-rooted work.
The latin title, FEMINEUS, means "feminine" or "womanish", the portrayal of the complex, varied and fantastic female world.
But this is only a my opinion.
